Creating Privacy with Partitions
Privacy has always been an issue when the popularity of open plan offices started to increase. Screens and partitions solve many problems with open plan areas that can affect the staff and their productivity and this will reduce their efficiency and ultimately cost the company money if prolonged.
Acoustic Privacy with Screens
Often the areas can be very noisy and concentration can be difficult, plus it is hard to differentiate between the various departments that share the area.
Acoustic screens are mostly screens that around 70mm in thickness with sound reducing foam installed. For optimum acoustic privacy make sure the screens selected go all the way to the floor and are large enough to absorb the most sound.
There are a number of different solutions that companies can adopt but by far the most effective is to have screens dividing the office areas and the desk units.
Visual Privacy with Partitions
The main partition screens sold at The Barn Office Furniture are large in size and will stand roughly the height of a person. These not only allow the sound to be deflected from outside and inside the barrier giving the user a better environment to concentrate in for longer periods but also create a suitable visual barrier.
Other Screens
Other screens can be added to the desk units directly; these are slightly smaller in size and give immediate sound defence and privacy from any desks in direct proximity to each other. All open plan office areas and indeed meeting rooms or communal areas should have some form of noise reduction and privacy screens, they provide a cost effective solution to the problem and play an important role in health and safety.
Mobile and Freestanding Screens
A complete range of screens can be discovered on the site of which they are free standing and provide different functions for your office. There are two main versions to choose from which include the partition screens on wheels or the freestanding version.
Screens on Wheels and Castors
The wheeled partitions are available in the standard model or the slightly more sophisticated version with the integrated screen whiteboard. Both styles come in a nice light grey colouring which is a neutral colour which can be integrated into any office environment.
Freestanding Screens
The Sydney Freestanding model is an ideal solution for either partitioning off sections of the office or using as a display board. All of the screens come in a number of sizes and different shades that you can choose from.
